Inventory remains low, but compared to last month the numbers are already improving. New listings increased a whopping 44% from last month. Wow! Obviously, continuing on this type of trajectory is not realistic, but it does make the coming Spring real estate season feel promising. Particularly for buyers who are really going head-to-head right now. Quite frankly, equilibrium is what we’re hoping for. A more balanced real estate market ultimately benefits everyone. Many homeowners can’t sell unless they can find a place to buy. And without homes to sell, there aren’t homes to purchase, while prices can ratchet up to a seemingly unattainable level. So what’s a potential seller or buyer to do? First, talk to an expert who understands the market. (Might we suggest a Scout agent?) And second, really get to know your own tolerance for competition and (Real talk.) disappointment. We think it’s going to be fierce out there for a while. Regardless, we’ll always be here for you!
Project: Real estate brokerage’s monthly newsletter distributed to colleagues and past and potential clients.
Objective: To inform potential homebuyers why the market feels so competitive, what it means, and what could happen as the market transitions.
